ROBINSON SUITES BAD BAD BAD

The apartment building is falling apart, there is no management on site ever. The paint on the outside of the building is coming off already. The elevators still have sharp plastic all over them. Water is leaking all over the place even the lobby. This building is 1.5 years old - there is SO much Airbnb so no one respects the building STAY AWAY

ROBINSON SUITES

I feel sad for the owners of this property, they probably had no idea what they were buying. There is no condo management (no idea if required by Singapore law) and all enquiries are just done via email, probably sent directly to the developers. The lifts are covered in ugly plastic as if there is ongoing construction still. The big pool on the upper floor is good length, but water is freezing cold since the surrounding buildings make sure that side of the building receive no sunlight. The other pool area on lower floor is better, but not suitable for swimming because of weird partitioning. It’s also often used by for parties and more than once I observed cigarette butts in the pool etc.

Apparently there is an underground carpark but no slots are given to tenant!?! I heard this from a friend who lives in the building. The automatic lift shows the availability and it’s always about 80% empty, so this does not make any sense. Also, there are no visitor slots, so good luck trying to find a place in CBD area if you have someone coming over by car.

Another rather interesting point is that you will find a lot of the units rented out via Airbnb for about $200 per night. I do not know if this is even legal practise, but I would not be surprised if the housing agents would do this just for extra cash on the side while the unit is empty.

The worst of the lot is the draconian security guard posse downstairs. It appears they are given an authority (by the developer since there is no condo manager?) to come up and enforce whatever random rules that pleases her. This includes asking rudely the business of visitors, checking and trying to withhold documents, making comments about matters that are absolutely none of her business. The area downstairs is forbidden from cars, but practically every night you see 1-4 cars parked there, right in front of the “security”. I’m guessing there is some kopi money exchanging hands there. My friend could not even have the mover park there for a while when he wanted to unload the furniture etc.

The list just goes on. I feel sorry for the people who are living in this condo. The location is great and all, but there are some serious faults with the condo and how it is managed. I would stay away from this property as a potential buyer, someone who considers to rent and even as a visitor as myself.
