SEASCAPE
In discussions with the management agents, we were told that over 70% of the occupiers were families with children – yet, because the developer had designed a ‘luxury’ condo, there were no facilities for children (not sure why the luxury and children are exclusive but never mind). We pointed out perhaps they should try to now deal with the facts (lots of children) and the reply was that they considered a slide but because of the cost (SGD 30,000 to put a slide in apparently!) it was rejected.
We volunteered paying for a table tennis table out of our own pocket and for the use of all but this was apparently rejected by the owners as there was nowhere appropriate to put this. This can be only be decided by the owners but apparently there are only 6-7 that attend the meetings. Ergo, key decisions are made by people representing less than 5% of the flats in the Condo – that is what I call democracy!
We also pointed out that there was some vacant land next door to the condo (the size of a tennis field, standing between two condos) and suggested that something could be done about it either by Seascape or by Sentosa Cove – we were told this was state land and that there was no intention or plan to develop it into anything.
