ECHELON - GOOD BAD AND UGLY

It was somewhat nice living here but can experience a rough departure

The good
Very modern convenient friendly concierge and security Tech friendly using a modern condo app Common facilities are nice
With the new shopping area ARTRA easy supermarket access and some good food within minutes Easy bus ride to River Valley Clark Quay Ikea Orchard

The bad
1 Elevators were inefficient slow and often occupied by contractors moving between B3 to level 42 every other day
2 Super small gym and with Covid restrictions there's only room for 2 people that only has like 3-4 machines only
3 Every month had some sort of reno or drilling
4 Sliding bathroom doors get stuck due to humidity thus you end up getting stuck in the bathroom and after struggling to get out the sliding door ripps the painting covers on the ceiling and sides Even with dw40 on the metal eventually tightens up throughout the year
5 Water flushing sounds from neighbors above can be heard throughout the unit
6 Fancy built-in fridge unit which really holds enough groceries for a family of 3
7 During intense rain windows must be slammed shut many times to prevent from rain leaking litres of water onto your master bedroom wooden floor was fixed for some units by mgmt in 2021 but still leaked for some cases
8 From the constant window slamming handles become loose and sometimes miss screws
9 Because of the window slamming your room shakes when neighbors above or below you slam their window at like 11 or 12 am at night on the iCondo app there are actual conversations between pro- and anti window slammers talking about why slamming must occur

The ugly
A large exodusturnover of tenants in 2021 and 2022 due to rent jumping up nearly 40-50 Greedy LL agents would take all the bad and use it as ammo to extract from your deposit without proof of repairing for the next tenant Be wary of some LL agents within Echelon as when you move in there are some defects that you record but are not fixed then at the end are required to pay large sums of money for items you thought were just normal building quality of Echelon from the list of the Bad Living for several years we had a cycle of at least 5-6 neighbors changing out on all units on our floor

BAD PROPERTY

Echelon is very near Redhill station but there is no supermarket around here.messy and noisy.poor lifts.so many Japanese.

Do Not Buy or Rent Any Unit at the Highest Floor of Tower 9 Echelon!!

Ok, the apartment itself is good. Comfortable and efficient layout. Location also very convenient, a stone throw away from CBD. Everything else is just appaling and the noises coming from the badly installed water pump on the sky terrace makes one very, very angry!!

Workmanship of property and apartments is rubbish (residents complain all the time), contractors deny responsibility and get away it, leaving residents to deal with problems. Condo management is inefficient and unempathetic. The odour from the pneumatic waste system is another story by itself. If you are living on the highest floor, beware of noises from the sky terrace - noises from water pumps, tanks and exhaust fans and never-ending rectification work and contractors. It is so not peaceful. Stay away if you are looking for quaint living, work from home or have kids who sleep in the afternoon.

There are no CCTV in carparks, so bicycles and small gadgets get stolen. The management does nothing to help. The lifts are also a joke - not air conditioned or well ventilated and if you live above 30th floor, half the time it will take you 4-5 stops on-the-way or about 6-8 min to get to the ground floor. In 1 particular week, i had 3 taxis cancelling on me and 1 Grab $5 penalty. Despite feedback, the lifts are still not programmed to work efficiently.

In short - Look elsewhere, whether you are buying or renting. Propertyguru has several negative reviews to corrobate the fact that Echelon is simply a bad property and poor value for money.

This is really nice condo, close to Orchard. Very new and close to the MRT. Facilities are great, although the indoor gym is a bit small. Highly recommended.
