I had been living in Strata for many years
1 of the lifts had been breaking down and finally the MCST AGM Meeting had agree to change the motor and most parts of 2 lift to ensure the liability and safety but this is going to take 2-4 months for the parts to arrive
There is a change of council chairman management and security guard
Management are much more responsive and guards are alert

STRATA-BEWARE OF GREEDY OVERSEAS LANDLORD

I rented an apartment in Strata from a landlord overseas. The security of that place is non-existent as anybody could go into the condo even though there is a security guard. The landlord was non-responsive and pretty much ignored my requests to get things fixed. When i moved out, she kept part of my deposit for no reason and it was difficult to do anything because she resides overseas and SG law does not apply to her. Beware of a 2nd floor 1 bedroom apartment near the lift with an overseas greedy landlord. She was very hard to deal with and she also tried to source tenants for higher rent while I was only 1 month into my contract. Then the agent would bring them for viewing pretending they are buyers. Her dad lives in SG and would do the negotiation for her, but she legally owns the place so she would just later ignore the terms claiming she has no idea what her dad agreed on. Very cunning. So just beware and try your best not to rent from an overseas landlord in Strata.
